INDIA: PAIRED VIEWS - Thank You!
November 26, 2009
I want to sincerely thank all of you who made it to my first solo photography exhibit opening last week at re:creative. Over 200 people came out on a wet Thursday night, exceeding expectations.
INDIA: PAIRED VIEWS is the first of many hopeful exhibits that contribute personally to my journey as a young photographer. Open to dialogue and democratic in presentation, the series was a reenactment of my own travels into urban India. I was not expecting anything, nor did I fully educate myself beforehand of the issues at hand in the country. With a last-minute commission by Justice Ventures International to document street scenes in their areas of work, I armed myself with the camera to present views that offered an honest, unbiased take on the images of India's cities. In juxtaposition of presentation, the pairings spurred incredible conversations at the exhibit opening, from dialogue on architecture and geography to public policy and youth culture.
Thank you for celebration with me. I am excited for the days to come.
