The Coffee Foundry

[ Vid cap by Herman Yung of Doobybrain ]

My buddies Wilson and Norm just opened the Coffee Foundry in the West Village and we're all super excited about it. Why? Well, if you don't know these guys, they are purveyors of home-roasted coffee beans, offering fresh single pourover cups of goodness for every customer walking in. I've been sampling Wilson's home-roasted coffee for the past few months now, and I can say with truth that every successive cup tastes more and more incredible. I am in no way a coffee expert, but being good friends with these guys and serving together at our church has spurred curiosity on the science behind every cup of joe I down.

The Coffee Foundry has established itself as the daytime operation within Karaoke BOHO on W. 4th St. Their take on a single cup brew utilizes a pourover technique which allows the grinds to mingle with the water for several minutes before exiting into the serving vessel. Expect to wait a few minutes, but it is every bit worth it.

They are currently serving custom home-roasted varietals of Ethiopia Organic Guji Sidamo Maduro, Kenya Kirinyaga Peaberry Gakuyu-ini, and Bolivia Organic Colonia Berea. Get your cup now before the lines get too long.

The Coffee Foundry, 186 W4th Street.

I snapped a few of these brewers on my way in this week.
